|Über Denis Lelong:
DENIS LELONG (France, 1970)
Artist/3D computer animator & infographer
In 1993 he graduated in metal sculpture by the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts
Appliqués et des Metiers d’Art in Paris.
In 1994 he received a Fulbright grant to study
infography and 3D computer animation at the School of Film/Video of the California
Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he received a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1997.
Studying at Calarts he met Mariela Cádiz (Spain) and Kent Clelland (USA), with whom
he’s been regularly collaborating.
His 3-D computer animation « Inclusion » (1995) has
been shown in numerous international festivals and « Alèthéia » (1998), his thesis
project, co-directed with Mariela Cádiz and with music by Kent Clelland, has been also
projected world wide and received several international awards :
1998 > Special Mention of the Jury > VideoArt - Festival et Forum International des
Nouvelles Images (Locarno, Switzerland).
> Bronce Award > JVC Tokyo Video Festival (Tokyo, Japan).
1999 > Best Video Award > Concurso de Creación Audiovisual de Navarra
2000 > Special Mention of the Jury > Interferences Festival International d’Arts
Multimedia Urbains (Belfort, France).
> Best Original Music Composition Award > awarded to the music composition
created by Kent Clelland > Certamen de Vídeo de la Comunidad de Madrid.
Festival de Cine (Alcalá de Henares, Spain).
He currently lives in Paris (France), working as a 3D computer infographer as well as
developping interactive videographic programming.
